While Islamic (Sharia) Banking was still Fairley unheard of in the UAE, Aref Ismail Al Khoori took the big leap of faith in playing a pivotal role in establishing and seeing through the introduction of Islamic Banking in early 2007 whilst at his position as Chairman for The National Bank of Abu Dhabi (NBAD) which was soon followed by the formation of Abu Dhabi National Islamic Finance (ADNIF)
